The mall's expansion began in 1977 and within a year it had many retailers including B.C Clark Jewelers. In the year 1980, the builder stated that the mall was doing well because of a great demand for goods. He attributed the reason to a strong oil economy. Further expansion took place in 1981 when Safeway-the grocery store left the mall. Soon the mall saw a decline in tenants up till the 1990s.
When the four screen theater was converted to a seven screen, there was an increase in footfalls. But the occupancy remained low till the late 90s. A change was seen when the Norwalk furniture store, Shoe Gallery and Shogun Steak House of Japan set up shops in the mall.
