An Oklahoma City travel guide will list the several points to be seen on a visit to the museum. 'The Gates of Time' are two monumental bronze gates. They form the entrance to the Outdoor memorial and mark the moment of destruction which is 9:02. 'The Field of Empty Chairs' has 168 chairs that are hand-crafted and have been made from bronze, stone and glass.
The chairs are said to be a representation of the empty chairs in the homes of the victims. The names of victims are written on the base of each chair. They are arranged in nine rows and these rows are meant to stand for the nine floors of the building.
The Survivors' wall is the only wall of the Murrah Building that survived the blast. The names of more than 800 survivors are inscribed on the wall. 'The Survivor Tree' is an American elm on the north of the memorial.
The tree which is almost 103 years old, survived the blast. 'The Reflecting Pool' is a structure that is made up of polished granite. It has water flowing over it. Those who see the reflection in the water are said to see the face of an individual who has been affected by terrorism.
'The Memorial Fence' is a fence that is 10 foot tall and surrounds the reflecting pool and field of empty chairs. Over the years visitors leave items of tribute at the fence. Those who travel Oklahoma City must take time out and pay their tribute at the Memorial.
