Along with hosting the World Cup Softball every year, the city is the most important place for all softball players. The National Softball Hall of Fame and Museum is located in the city. The site is where every softball player or associated person aims to reach at some point of his career.

The Hall of Fame and Museum in Oklahoma City were officially opened for public reception in 1973.

The museum is at the Amateur Softball Association of America headquarters. The Hall of Fame has stringent rules for induction. A retired player, who has been retired three years and has been selected to three All-American teams at either the super or major levels, should be the minimum qualification of the aspirant. There have been 400 persons inducted so far.

The Hall of Fame and Museum is open almost all days of the year except a few common holidays. The body has 337 members presently and 125 deceased members.

The museum has many items on display which will give anyone a good idea of the history and present of the game of softball.

The national softball hall of fame and museum in Oklahoma City was established in the year 1957 and moved to the city in the year 1966. It is truly a permanent shrine to the former sports players who had exceptional careers and recognizing others for their achievements. The museum features the remarkable history of the softball and honors made to more than 300 inductees of this amateur sport.

The hall of fame building covers a vast area of 18,000 sq feet since its dedication in the year 1976. It also houses the headquarters of the Amateur softball association which is the national governing body of softball in United States.

The lower level of the building has recently undergone a makeover and includes dynamic, new, colorful displays enlightening the Big 12 Conference, NCAA College World Series, Elite Umpire programs and medals, the USA collegiate player of the year award, and computers where visitors can look for members of local association of hall of fame.

The first floor highlights the vibrant history on panels, storyboards and cases filled with achievements of past Hall of famers along with an Olympic gallery.

The hall of fame is closed on weekends from October- April. It is closed on Christmas day, 1st January and the Thanksgiving Day which is 4th November. The working hours of the museum on Monday - Friday is from 8.30 A.M to 4 P.M, Saturdays is to 10 A.M To 4 PM and on Sundays 1 PM to 4 PM.

The admission charges for the adult are 2$ and for children under 12 years is 1$.
